Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which students acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy toward others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

In Fall 2018, the Seekonk Public Schools established a Social and Emotional Learning Taskforce comprised of teachers, school nurses, office staff, and administrators.  As part of our work, we have published a draft version of our Social and Emotional Learning Action Plan.  This plan addresses our current strengths, challenges, and short-term recommendations to addresses the social and emotional needs of our 2,000 learners.  In addition, we are happy to share a presentation explaining social and emotional learning, as well as our action plan highlights.  These pieces of information can be found via the links below.
